It has emerged this morning that the doomed entity that is Irish Water has launched a desperate campaign of texting people asking them to pay their bill.

This follows a similarly fruitless effort of ringing customers to remind them that their bill is overdue.

According to Irish Water, some customers will receive a phone call, others a text, or a letter on their mailbox.

A mass demonstration against water charges will be held in Dublin this coming Saturday.
