Irish Water lifts the boil water notice affecting upwards of 600,000, but warns that the Leixlip plant remains ‘vulnerable’

Irish Water has lifted the boil water notice affecting upwards of 600,000 people across Dublin, Meath, and Kildare.

Residents were forced to boil their water for the past eight days, which created problems and inconvenience for many businesses.

Despite the lifting of the notice, Irish Water has warned that the Leixlip Water Treatment Plant at the center of the controversy remains ‘vulnerable’.

The utility has issued an apology for the latest disaster, adding that it will continue to monitor the situation ‘closely.’

How do you feel about hundreds of thousands of people being forced to boil their water in this day and age, particularly in a supposedly developed country such as Ireland? Let us know in the comments below.
