In an unbelievable set of affairs, it seems that the ridiculous entity that is Irish Water is finally set to be abolished.

The main factor has been varying accounts of what the next government will do.

Initially Fine Gael’s Simon Coveney said they are going to possibly alter their water charge stance, then Fianna Fail’s Micheal Martin said if in power, they’d push the charges down the road a number of years.

Then Enda Kenny said no one will get a refund even if Irish Water is scrapped.

All this uncertainty has lead to Irish Water’s phone centre practically come to a standstill today as thousands and thousands have rang them to cancel.

Those already paid have dished out €98. The next bill is due on March 8th.
