The much-hated utility that is Irish Water, once thought to be dead and buried by popular power, is today surging from the murky waters of the political cesspool in Ireland, armed with intentions of charging people up to €500 in ‘fees’ for wasting water.
The ‘fees’ would come into effect in 2020, if Irish Water’s request is approved by the Regulator.
Irish Water’s intentions are likely to be met with stiff resistance once again, three years after the fierce backlash against the utility’s purpose nationwide.
