The Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that an Irish citizen has been killed in a plane crash in Hawaii.
It is understood that the man, who was the pilot of a single-engine Cessna 182H, was flying a five-strong skydiving team when the accident occurred. There were no survivors.
The aircraft came down in the island of Kauai at around 9.30am local time yesterday.
