27-year-old Thomas O’Flaherty is in hospital today, fighting for his life after sustaining serious injuries in a head-on car crash in Australia last Thursday.
It is understood that he was travelling alone in the car when he collided with a lorry while on a trip to Sydney. He was airlifted to hospital, where he remains in a coma.
The young Irishman, who is originally from Wexford, has been living in Australia for the last five years, working as a medical engineer in Brisbane.
Thomas’ family flew to Australia to be by his side.
