Islamic State supporters have posted three new posters online promising terrorist attacks on London and New York.
Both posters feature the tagline “Just Terror”.
One of the posters shows a masked man wearing a suicide bomb vest standing in front of a burning Big Ben and is captioned “London attacks coming soon”.
Another threatens New York with lone wolf attacks, showing another masked man wielding a knife looming over Manhattan.
The third and final poster published by Islamic State affiliates simply proclaims
“Remember O you who have believed, whoever of you should revert from his religion.
‘Allah will bring forth in place of them a people he will love and who will love him… who are humble toward the believers, powerful against the disbelievers… they strive in the cause of Allah and do not fear the blame of a critic.
‘That is the favor of Allah, he bestows it upon whom he wills. And Allah is all encompassing and knowing.”
This is common theme with Islamic State supports who attempt to sow fear however, after the Sri Lanka attacks on Christian churches and following the group’s defeat on the ground it is likely that they are reverting to more traditional terrorist methods as seen with groups such as Al-Qaeda.
