Israel must stop firing on UN peacekeepers, says Harris

Israel’s fire on UN troops must end, the outgoing Taoiseach said, reports Breaking News.

It follows the firing of Israeli forces on the UN headquarters in southern Lebanon, which resulted in the second consecutive day’s worth of injuries to two peacekeepers.

At the European Council, Simon Harris is going to demand a quick ceasefire in the area.

On Wednesday in the Oval Office, Harris spoke with US President Joe Biden about Israeli actions on the Blue Line, reports Breaking News.

The chiefs, according to him, decided that the Blue Helmets ought to “always be afforded full protection.”

Additionally, the Taoiseach has been in contact with Antonio Guterres, the UN Secretary-General.

In a statement, Mr Harris said: “Israel must stop firing on UN peacekeepers serving with Unifil in Lebanon. Israel must listen to the voice and the concerns of the international community,” reports Breaking News.

“I will be calling for an immediate ceasefire that can allow us to focus on implementation of UN Resolution 1701 and get people back to their homes,” he added, reports Breaking News.
