Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has defended legislation passed in his Republican controlled state banning the chemical and surgical mutilation of children in the name of “gender affirmation”.
“When you talk to people — and I know like people in your industry will dress it up with a euphemism and they’ll say it’s health care to cut off the private parts of a 14 or 15 year old — that is not health care. That is mutilation,” Governor DeSantis said at a press conference last Friday.

The Republican governor has provoked the ire of the political and media establishments in the U.S and across the Anglophone world, first in banning the indoctrination of children with so-called “woke” ideology in schools and then with the banning of the castration and sexual mutilation of children in the name of “transgenderism”.
Florida’s Republican controlled legislature passing a bill that would see sexual abusers of children being put to death has also provoked outrage from pro-LGBTQIA groups, particularly pro-transgenderism groups.
Despite the media and celebrity promoted hatred of DeSantis for the above mentioned policies his popularity as a potential White House contender continues to soar across the United States, eclipsed only by that of Donald Trump.
