Italy has set a new European weather record as 29 inches of rain fell in just 12 hours.
Northern Italy was drenched in heavy rain this week, with the Liguria region seeing the worst of the weather.
Official measurements say that 29.2 inches of rain fell in the region on Monday, causing flooding and landslides.
