People who initially said that Will Smith was right for standing up for his wife at the Oscars over what many believe to be a “harmless joke” about her hairstyle, appear to be turning their backs on Smith in recent days.
Various polls, including those on popular entertainment website TMZ, overwhelmingly say that Smith was wrong and are siding with Rock as the fallout continues.
Many people are saying that he the actor was white that there would be uproar across society.
Social media commenters say saying that so-called “Black Privilege” came into play at the Oscar’s on Sunday night. They’re saying that if Will Smith was a white man whacking Chris Rock on live TV, he would have been arrested, charged with hate crime and BLM would have cancelled him already.
Imagine if a white man whacked Chris Rock on live TV, watched by millions all over the world?
The white man would have been immediately arrested, charged with hate crime and would be immediately cancelled by the liberal left. He may even receive a life sentence for his hate crime.
But somehow Will Smith won’t be arrested and charged. BLM won’t be shouting on every liberal media platform. CNN won’t be campaigning for Will Smith to be cancelled.
Why? Because he is black. In other words, Will Smith is protected by his black privilege.
