Work at the site of the New Children’s Hospital in Dublin has resumed following an evacuation on Wednesday.
The evacuation is understood to have been triggered by a fire, though the extent of the damage is believed to be minor, reports Breaking News.
In a statement, main contractor BAM said that no injuries were recorded.
BAM said “a localised heat source activated” part of the sprinkler system on Wednesday, resulting in “water discharge”, reports Breaking News.
It added: “As a precaution and in line with standard procedures, the building was evacuated and emergency services attended. There were no injuries reported. The situation was quickly brought under control and is currently under review,” reports Breaking News.
Hundreds of workers employed by BAM and a range of subcontractors are currently involved in the final phases of the multi-billion-euro development.
