Arts Minister Catherine Martin said she would write to An Coimisiún Le Rincí Gaelacha (CLRG) to ensure all possible steps are taken to restore confidence in Irish competitive dancing.
The minister spoke after the commission, which is one of the main bodies for the Irish dance competition, said it had received complaints with evidence of several serious breaches of its code of conduct.
It is understood that the infringements in question relate to alleged anti-competitive practices.
The CLRG said it hired a former judge to oversee an investigation into the case.
Many people have claimed that Irish Dancing is rigged, excuse the pun, and that it’s only fair government bodies get to the bottom of it.
