“It’s an absolute joke” – Uproar at weddings and hotels having to close shop at midnight also

There’s been uproar on social media after it emerged that both weddings and hotels must end at midnight, along with regular pubs and nightclubs.

It was originally thought that hotels and weddings would be exempt from the new measures, especially if they were residents of a hotel where they were staying or where the wedding was taking place.

Many people say that it’s utterly ridiculous, unworkable and impracticable claiming that covid doesn’t know what time it is and that people will be leaving at midnight in droves rather than being staggered over the course of a night.

It appears as though the government and NPHET are desperate to once again impose a draconian lockdown on the Irish public even though we’ve one of the highest vaccine uptake rates in the world.

Pubs and nightclubs will have to shut their doors from midnight tonight from now on.

But it’s emerged that weddings too will have to finish the party at 12am in line with all other hospitality services.

It’s yet another ridiculous rule being pushed and implemented by the unelected NPHET who seem to be pulling the government’s strings.
