In an interview with Sky News, President Trump’s lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, has said that his client has been “completely cleared” in relation to the accusations from the President’s former lawyer, Michael Cohen.
Cohen, who pleaded guilty to several charges, has attempted to implicate the President by suggesting he broke campaign finance laws as part of a plea deal Sky News reports.
Cohen alleges that he had paid money to model and adult actress Stormy Daniels in the run up to the 2016 election to keep her from discussing an alleged affair between herself and Donald Trump in 2006.
The former New York City Mayor however, restated that Cohen, whom he describes as a “liar”, has no knowledge of any “Russian collusion” or “obstruction” and that it was “inevitable” that Trump would not be impeached.
Mr Giuliani also cautioned that the only reason to impeach Trump now would be for “political” purposes and that if this were to happen the “the American people would revolt”.
