It’s looking very likely that Leo Varadkar and Micheal Martin will share the position of Taoiseach over the coming 5 years

Michael Martin was interviewed on RTE Six One on Thursday night and wouldn’t give a straight answer as to who would be Taoiseach first, him or Leo Varadkar in the next Dail. He made his intentions perfectly clear however that he intends to go into government with Fine Gael until at least 2025.

Leo Varadkar was interviewed on Tuesday night’s PrimeTime and announced that he was hoping to be in government for 5 years working with Fianna Fail.

It’s beginning to look like there will be more of the same for the foreseeable future with both Fine Gael and Fianna Fail sharing power with a smaller party in a 5 year coalition government that would run until at least 2025.

Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael have revealed that they have agreed to a document that will give the framework to form a new Government.

In announcements, both parties confirmed that they have agreed to a number of measures which will work to form a stable Government.

Both parties say they are invested in forming a Government that will work together and rebuild the country following the Covid-19 outbreak.

Although both parties have agreed to work together they will still have to convince one of smaller parties in order to form a coalition.
