It’s summertime and the weather will be fine – Met Eireann say temperatures are expected to hit 20C today

It is the beginning of May and now officially the start of Irish summertime and it seems we are about to get the weather we have long been waiting for as temperatures are expected to reach a pleasant 20C today.

According to Met Eireann this week will be a relatively warm and dry week as temperatures are expected to be in the high teens throughout.

The national forecaster has said the weather all across the country will improve from today onwards with temperatures to range from 14-20C .

Met Eireann say: “Tuesday (today) will be dry with good sunny intervals, after any early morning mist and fog patches clear.”

“There will be maximum temperatures of 16C to 19C generally, but 13C or 14C Celsius along northeast, east and southern coasts.

“Wednesday will be dry, with sunshine and temperatures of 12C to 16C.

Meanwhile towards the end of the week, “Thursday and Friday will be mostly dry, with a mix of cloud and sunny intervals. A few isolated light showers may develop, especially in eastern and southern coastal areas and it’ll become windy by Friday.”

“The best of the temperatures will still be in the western half of the country, with maximum values of 16C to 18C degrees.”
