Miracle: Surfer stranded in the Irish Sea for more than 30 hours is found alive by the Belfast Coastguard

There was some good news and relief last night as police in the North confirmed that a surfer who had been missing for more than 30 hours was found alive off the coast of Northern Ireland.

The surfer believed to be a man was found by the Belfast Coastguard after they co-ordinated an extensive search from yesterday afternoon.

It is believed the surfer who left to go surfing from a beach near Campbeltown in Scotland was left stranded in the Irish Sea for over a day after the strong currents carried him away.

Thankfully after a long Search the man was located last night at approximately 7:30pm. According to the Belfast Coastguard the man was flown to hospital in Belfast and he is currently being treated for hypothermia.

They also said the man who is lucky to be alive, managed to survive due to him wearing the right thermal equipment.
