ITV confirm that the Jeremy Kyle show will not return

ITV have confirmed that it will not air the Jeremy Kyle show again.

The announcement comes after chiefs at the station were speaking before the British parliament’s Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Committee, following the death of a man who appeared on the show.

Speaking before the Committee ITV Chief Executive Carolyn McCall, said that the show or any other of its nature will not be broadcast in the future.

The decision comes after a former guest of the show apparently died by suicide after failing one of the show’s infamous lie detector tests.

Although the show featuring the guest was never broadcast, production members were subject to a parliamentary hearing following his death.

During the hearing British MP’s questioned the fact that lie detectors were used given that they are not 100% accurate.

Although the show’s Executive Producer Tom McLennan, defended the use of the lie detectors, he did admit that he wasn’t an expert on the equipment.

He added that the detectors were used as it enabled the show to tell whether or not a guest was lying.
