James Bulger’s mother Denise and her husband Stuart spoke candidly on last night’s Claire Byrne Live show about a film that was made about her son’s tragic disppearance and murder.
‘Detainment’ allegedly depicts the official records of what happened to James Bolger when he was taken by two 10-yr-old boys when he was out in a shopping centre with his mother.
Denise told of how the film was made completely behind her back and that the director, Vincent Lambe never once consulted with her or asked her for permission to use a real child in the film.
Detainment has now been nominated for an Oscar, something that Denise and Stuart feel very strongly against and have called for the nomination to be pulled.
Some 220,000 people have already signed a petition in opposition to the nomination and they hope that Lambe does the morally right thing and pull the nomination.
