Japan in discussions to open a NATO liaison office in the country, in yet another blow for ailing Russian President Vladimir Putin

Japan is reportedly in discussions to open a NATO liaison office in the country, in yet another blow to ailing Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Following the cataclysmically ill-advised decision to invade Ukraine in an effort to stop NATO’s expansion, NATO has actually expanded exponentially with the addition of Finland, and likely Sweden also soon. Ukraine is also bound for NATO. Mr. Putin has raged bitterly at his own ineptitude following repeated reverses on the battlefield.

While Japan is not a NATO member, the country can become a valuable ally in the Pacific theater of operations.
