Japanese authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the worst mass killing in the country in almost two decades.
A suspected arson attacked killed 33 people inside the Kyoto Animation building on Thursday. A suspect was seen pouring a liquid on the first floor of the building and setting it alight. Witnesses say that the man, believed to be in his 40s, shouted ‘Die’ as he ignited the fire.
There are uncorroborated reports that the suspect may have believed that the studio was plagiarizing his own material, but the man’s mental state is also in question.
