Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has announced his resignation on health grounds.
Abe, 65, suffers from ulcerative colitis. He’s said to have suffered ill health in recent weeks and has been hospitalized twice over the past two months.
He became Japan’s longest-serving Prime Minister on Monday.
