The convicted killers of Limerick man Jason Corbett have won their appeal against their murder conviction, and have been granted a retrial.

Mr. Corbett was found dead at the US home he shared with his second wife Molly Martens in August of 2015. He had been bludgeoned to death.

Ms. Martens, and her father Thomas, were convicted of second-degree murder and sent to jail for the crime. However, the pair always argued that they did not get a fair trial, and that some evidence deemed to be crucial had not been taken into account.

The North Carolina Court of Appeal confirmed today that the killers will face a retrial.
