Pharmaceutical company Johnson & Johnson could submit an application to the European Medicines Agency for approval of their Covid-19 vaccine as soon as next week.
According to Reuters, Marco Cavaleri, chair of the European Medicines Agency’s vaccine evaluation team has said he expects an application in the coming days.
It is understood that the pharmaceutical giant will seek EMA approval for it’s one shot vaccine.
The news could potentially give Ireland’s Covid-19 vaccine programme a massive boost as the EU have already placed an order for 200 million doses.
The vaccine would also have the advantage of not needing ultra cold storage and it is only a single dose jab.
