There was a strong Garda presence around Dublin last night as they conducted inspections on rickshaw drivers and the vehicles themselves.
The operation was particularly focused around the Pearse Street area of the city. A number of items were on the Gardai’s list, such as the driver’s identity, vehicle roadworthiness, and public safety issues.
Over 100 rickshaws and horse-drawn vehicles were carried out.
Some issues concerning rickshaws have been raised in the recent past, such as the fact that they are often overloaded and are handled with little regard to road traffic regulations.
