Jon Venables, one of Britain’s most infamous youthful murderers, is to launch
In 1993 he and his friend Robert Thompson, who were both 10 years old, abducted and murdered two year old James Bulger in Merseyside. The crime shocked Britain due to the young age of the two killers and the savage nature of the random murder.
Both men were released after eight years and given new identities with lifetime anonymity. However, Venables was jailed again in 2010 for 3 years after child abuse images were discovered on his laptop. In 2017 he was sent to prison for the same offense, and has now been denied parole for release.
However, Venables was thrown back into jail for sexual crimes and is said to be bidding for freedom from jail over the coming weeks.
