The nations capital Dublin has yet again received great acclaim from people abroad after it has been voted the second most enjoyable holiday destination on the planet.
The news comes after annalists a travel website eBookers found that our very own ‘Fair City’ was the second most praised destination on their website amongst user comments, the capital however was pipped to the number 1 spot by the French city Nice after users found the city to be quiet pleasant making it the world’s most enjoyable holiday destination. Meanwhile the Spanish city of Barcelona came third on the list, whilst the country itself Spain, was the country spoken most highly of, ahead of the UK, Italy and the US.
The award is the second award the country’s capital has received inside a week, after tourists voted Dublin as the second friendliest city in the world. The news of Dublin’s popularity has been greatly welcomed by the CEO of Tourism Ireland, Niall Gibbons who said: “This is another well-deserved accolade for Dublin. Again and again, our research shows us that the friendliness of our people is one of our unique selling points.” “It is the warm welcome and the ‘craic’ here that resonates with our overseas visitors and makes Dublin and Ireland such a great choice for a short break or holiday”
