Justice is served: Deliveroo cyclist George Gonzaga Bento found not guilty of murdering 16-yr-old Josh Dunne in 2021




A 36-yr-old delivery cyclist has been found not guilty in the murder of 16-year-old Josh Dunne on Dublin’s East Wall Road in 2021.

According to RTE, George Gonzaga Bento was also found not guilty of holding a knife in a way that would intimidate another person and was found not guilty of causing harm to two other people.

The cyclist, who moved to Ireland from Brazil in 2019, pleaded not guilty to all charges.

The national broadcaster said that during the trial, prosecutors told the jury that Bento drew a knife during a “confrontation or confrontation” with a man on a moped who had stolen another delivery man’s bike.

Josh Dunne and other young men arrived at the scene and joined the confrontation where he got stabbed during the malee and died.
