A powerful blast in Kabul’s embassy district killed 90 and injured hundreds this morning.
The explosives were reportedly concealed inside a tanker truck. The blast was powerful enough to obliterate over 50 nearby vehicles and rock buildings nearly 1,700ft away.
Several BBC employees were caught up in the explosion, with at least one killed.
Hospitals soon became overwhelmed with the sudden influx of victims.
It is unclear what the actual target was, as the bomb went off in Kabul’s diplomatic quarter, where many embassies are sited.
No group or faction has yet claimed responsibility for the atrocity.
