A Garda investigation is underway this morning after a man aged in his twenties was assaulted in Dundalk last night.
According to reports the young man has was hospitalised after the horrific attack.
Gardaí say the man was attacked by another person in the Muirhevnamor estate in the town, at approximately 7pm.
They also say an investigation is currently ongoing.
