In a tragic set of circumstances, 24-yr-old nursing student, Karen Buckley’s suspected remains were found on a farm named High Craigton in Glasgow at approximately 2am.
Police have notified the family of the Cork lady. Unfortunately it is believed but not confirmed that the human remains are that of Karen Buckley.
A 21-yr-old man named Alexander Pacteau was detained for questioning while police carried out their search, but things rapidly became more serious when the search moved to a farm just 10 miles from his mothers house.
Pacteau was officially arrested this morning in connection to the disappearance of Karen Buckley.
This charge will increase to murder if and when the human remains are deemed to be that of Karen’s.
She met the man in a nightclub in Glasgow called “The Sanctuary” in the early hours of Sunday morning. They both drove back to his apartment, where he claims she left at 4am.
Karen was never seen again since leaving her friends to talk to Alexander Pacteau in the nightclub.
Mass was held yesterday evening in Mourneabbey, her hometown in Cork. The community came together to help send love, best wishes and prayers to Karen’s family in Scotland.
