Karen Buckley finally laid to rest

A large number of mourners gathered in Cork yesterday evening to pay their respects to Karen, whose life was tragically cut short in Glasgow two weeks ago.

Photographs of Karen as a child making her First Communion and graduating from the University of Limerick were arranged at the funeral home as a homage to her short but bright life.

Pupils from St Mary’s in Mallow, where Karen attended secondary school, and nurses from Karen’s own class at the University of Limerick attended the event.

Karen’s coffin was carried by her father John and brothers Brendan, Kieran and Damien.

The hearse then travelled to St Michael’s church in Analeentha, where a requiem Mass will take place today at 2.
