In an ironic twist a woman who assaulted a man for wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat in a Massachusetts restaurant has been arrested and now faces deportation as it emerged, she is an illegal immigrant from Brazil.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested Rosiane Santos (41) last Tuesday after a video went viral of her assaulting Bryton Turner (23) in the Mexican restaurant where she worked in Cape Cod.
Geo Macarao, a bartender at the restaurant, told Boston 25 news that Turner did not provoke Santos in the incident. Macarao said that Turner simply ordered his food when Santos launched the attack.
Turner recorded the incident on his phone. The video showed Santos walking behind him and hitting his hat off his head.
She then smacked Turner who did not respond, even when police arrived to arrest Santos, she again attempted to take his hat as police were putting her under arrest.
Santos launched the unprovoked attack on Turner and stated it was because she has been “drinking” and had been “discriminated against so many times in her life” and been “bullied, OK?”
Police determined that Santos was in the United States illegally and reported her to ICE who then detained her.
