Gardaí in West Dublin have launched an investigation after a man was aged in his 40s was shot dead this afternoon.
It is understood the investigation comes after a man aged in his 40s was shot in the Foxdene Estate, Ronanstown, shortly after 2pm this afternoon.
Gardaí say the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
They added that the scene has since been closed off in order for a forensic examination to take place.
