TV star and journalist, Katie Hopkins has been detained in a South African airport after she was accused of spreading so-called racial hatred.

Ms Hopkins was prevented from leaving the country after she had her passport confiscated by authorities just before her flight took off to return home to London.

It’s understood that the former The Apprentice star was detained by security after she was accused of spreading racial hatred in the country.

The news which comes less than a few days after the star collapsed after taking ketamine for shoulder pain, was confirmed by Hopkins herself on her Twitter account.

In a post to her followers, Hopkins said she was unsure when she would get home after she was detained by authorities at the airport gate.

Hopkins also described the incident as a joke and a clear abuse of power by the authorities, who would rather sit on a lunch break rather than investigate white farm murders.
