After issuing a video message of support for the Mayo team and fans earlier this week, the Taoiseach Enda Kenny has now stated that he will be the first to invade the pith tomorrow afternoon if his beloved Mayo win the Sam Maguire trophy.
Mr Kenny made his comments last night in Bratislava, after he attended a summit of EU heads of state.
Mr Kenny from Castlebar claims his fellow county men have the ability to pull off an upset in Croke Park tomorrow afternoon.
The Taoiseach said: “This Mayo team have not played as a team of conviction of winning to this point, but there’s one big game in them and I hope it’s on Sunday.”
“When we win this one I’ll be the first to invade the pitch, 65 years is too long to wait. So we’re going to bring Sam home on Sunday.”
