Protesters have gathered in Dublin in their thousands this afternoon to protest against water charges.

People met at both Heuston Station and Connolly Station at 2pm and have commenced marching to St Stephen’s Green for about 4pm, where speeches will be held by organisers.

Various roads have been closed temporarily as the crowds move by.

The demonstration also includes a protest outside the headquarters of Apple because of the Government’s planned appeal to the European Commission ruling that Ireland granted the company illegal state aid worth €13bn.

Even though water charges have been “kicked down the riadt” until March 2017, one protestor told The Liberal
“We’re expecting some sort of water charges to be implemented next year again. We’re here to say no for that time. No way, we won’t pay!”
