An Irish priest has received a mixed response to comments he made during mass last weekend.
Father Tom Forde, was saying Mass in the Friary in Kilkenny City when he made the analogy between zombies and gay people, along with people who support abortion, euthanasia and a number of other “self-destructive and irrational behaviours”.
Speaking about zombies, Fr Tom said:
“We see this when the mask slips and someone we thought a friend is revealed as a fiend, full of anger, spite, malice, lust or pride we had not seen before. We see it in self-destructive, irrational behaviour.
“It is visible in the abuse of drugs and alcohol, in adultery, fornication and homosexuality (and there are other unnameable behaviours). As well as in acceptance of abortion and contraception and in the move to legalise euthanasia.
“In the zombie genre once you’re bitten you’re infected and there’s no hope. The only way to deal with the monsters is to stab or shoot them in the brain for otherwise they are merciless, relentless and unstoppable”
A parishioner who knows Fr Tom very well told The Liberal:
“The usual virtue signal brigade got their knickers in a twist but Fr Tom has great support from people who know him. He is a fearless priest and sadly just one of a few who are willing to speak up against the agenda behind what he spoke about. It made perfect sense to me. A number of people have congratulated Fr Tom for having the guts to say what many people feel.”
