Killjoy: Simon Harris is trying to scrap discount alcohol promotions and loyalty points on alcohol

It’s not even Christmas yet but it appears that the Grinch is out and about doing his dastardly deeds.

Minister for Health Simon Harris has his eyes set on taking the fun out of buying a few drinks and enjoying yourself at home.

32-yr-old Harris has formed a Bill that will see an end of discount alcohol being sold in Ireland, the likes of a free slab if you buy a slab and special promotions for Christmas, the World Cup and other various other holidays, festivities and occasions.

Harris also it trying to scrap your loyalty points from buying any form of alcohol. So, for example, instead of being rewarded for buying a few drinks in Tesco and banging them onto your Tesco loyalty card, you’ll get no points for buying your booze.

It’s understood that Harris has to run the Bill past his European Union overlords but that he aims to have it in place shortly.
