The Labour party has pledged to help local football clubs with €12m raised from taxing bets, if elected into government.
The gaping financial hole at the Football Association of Ireland (FAI) means that small football clubs have been largely abandoned.
Labour will kick off its ‘footie manifesto’ at an event in Dublin later today.
