Labour’s Aodhán Ó Ríordáin declared his intentions on becoming the next leader of the Labour Party, earlier this week and will officially launch his campaign today.
The contest will see himself and Alan Kelly contest for inner party support to succeed Brendan Howlin.
Speaking on RTÉ’s Drivetime programme, Ó Ríordáin said that he will run for party leader and vowed to get the party back campaigning to the people once again.
Meanwhile Kelly who declared his intention earlier this week vowed to work for the people by interaction with unions and communities.
