Kildare’s supposedly notorious systemic white supremacy was checked on Saturday after Black Lives Matter supporters staged a protest in the allegedly racist town of Newbridge.
You may be forgiven for thinking that the quiet town in the Lillywhite county (perhaps that nickname is now racist?) did not have a major racism problem but somehow the death of career criminal George Floyd in Minneapolis has brought this reality to the fore.
Other towns in Ireland also had BLM marches on Saturday and it is hoped that unlike in Drogheda last week these protestors will not become a violent, animalistic mob once that attacks random white people once their stunt has finished.
