Large fire destroys top floor and roof of brand new apartment block near Victoria Park in London

A large blaze has destroyed the top floor and roof of an unfinished luxury apartment block in the upmarket Victoria Park area of London.

The Bow Wharf development features 24 units in total, including 5 houses and 19 apartments. Some of these units were sold for close to a million pounds.

Up to eighty firefighters battled to bring the blaze under control. There have been no reports of any personal injuries.

Works on Bow Wharf began in 2015, and were nearing completion when the fire broke out.

The cause of the blaze has not been determined, but investigators believe it may have started around the solar panels fitted on the building’s roof.
