
In the heart of Dublin, thousands of people participated in an anti-abortion protest, reports Breaking News.
On Saturday afternoon, a smaller group staged a counter-demonstration in support of abortion rights on O’Connell Street.
The annual March for Life began in Parnell Square and proceeded towards the Custom House, reports Breaking News.
Participants carried flags from all around Ireland and held signs that said, “Abortion kills our future.”
The organisation is requesting that the government enact laws restricting abortion to the first six weeks of pregnancy as well as lengthening the three-day waiting time before seeking one, reports Breaking News.
The rally took place after it emerged that 10,033 babies were aborted last year in Ireland.
