One week on, authorities have not yet been able to identify any motive or reason as to why a wealthy, seemingly law-abiding citizen suddenly snapped and shot 58 people to death at a music concert in Las Vegas.
Investigating officers have pieced together strands of information pertaining to Stephen Paddock’s life, discovering for example that he spent a large part of his time stockpiling automatic weapons.
But nobody has been able to pinpoint what exactly was Paddock’s motivation to carry out the worst mass shooting in US history.
Police have admitted that they are baffled, and that the perpetrator’s true motives may never be known.
