Latest figures reveal that rents in Ireland are about twice as expensive than the average across other European countries

It is common knowledge that Ireland is rife with rip-offs, from the astronomical price of insurance, energy costs, broadband, food, etc. Overall, people in Ireland pay way over the odds for just about everything when compared with other European countries.

And it has now emerged that rents across the country are almost twice as much as the average in many of Ireland’s European counterparts.

On average, renters here pay about €8,000 more per year than people across Europe.

An acute shortage of accommodation, driven mostly by Government bias towards private profit, is causing rents to skyrocket.

A major public demonstration in Dublin to protest against the dire housing situation in Ireland is planned for this Saturday.
