The director behind the Leaving Neverland documentary Dan Reed, has taken to Twitter to respond allegations that a mistake was made during filming.
According to The Mirror newspaper, Reed took to Twitter after Micahel Jackson’s former biographer Mike Smallcomb, pointed out that a mistake was made in regards to James Safehuck’s statement when he was allegedly abused at the Neverland Train Station.
In a series of tweets Samallcomb pointed out that despite Safehuck’s saying that he was allegedly abused at the station which was built on the former popstar’s ranch, planning application shows that the station wasn’t actually built until two years after the alleged incident took place.
Smallcomb claims that he had obtained the planning application for the train station and it’s date for approval was marked September 2, 1993, before stating that it later opened in 1994.

In the documentary which was aired on HBO and Channel 4 in the UK, Safehuck claims that he was abused in an upstairs room of the station.
However following Smallcomb’s discovery Reed has taken to Twitter to respond to the discover saying: “Yeah there seems to be no doubt about the station date. The date they have wrong is the end of the abuse.”

Reed’s response then seemingly sparked Smallcomb to criticise the director by responding: “So Dan Reed is now saying because the story has been debunked, suddenly the end of Safechuck’s abuse was when he was 16/17 rather than 14. It’s a three year discrepancy. Just hold your hands up, don’t change the story. This is what happens when you don’t investigate properly.”
