A GAA playing priest subbed himself during a hurling match because he was scheduled to say Mass.
Fr Vinny Stapleton subbed himself at around the 45 minutes mark because he had to leave and say mass in Tipperary at the weekend. Fr Vinny managed to even score a point at the 26th minute prior to changing from one uniform to another.
The Borris-Ileigh player had to call on another player as he couldn’t leave his Mass attendents waiting.
His cousin and sports reporter Shane Stapleton posted:
My first cousin, Fr Vinny Stapleton, substitutes himself midway through the second half of a league game against Sars to go say mass. Blessed us with a couple of lovely points. No, this is not a joke @Borris_GAA pic.twitter.com/9XXtxSabLk
