Leinster beaten by Saracens in European Champions Cup final




Leinster have lost in their attempts for a fifth European Champions Cup crown as they were beaten 20-10 by Saracens in Newcastle this evening.

In a crunch match it was the English side who came out on top to claim the spoils in a packed out St James’s Park.

Leinster who controlled the early part of the match will leave the North East of England wondering what have been as a resolute Saracens put in a strong performance to claim European club rugby’s top prize.

Saracens who went the entire tournament unbeaten, put in a strong and spirited performance in the second half which proved crucial.

The English side who had a strong defensive display have Vunipola to thank as his mammoth performance and try proved the difference as he scored a crucial second half try to seal the tie.
